Two mornings a week, before Cottesloe is properly awake, a small white room inside the Civic Centre fills with mats and props. The Movement Society runs its signature class here at quarter past six, forty-five minutes of low-impact mat Pilates built to strengthen and lengthen rather than exhaust. Bring your own mat and toolkit, or borrow one. All levels welcome, which in practice means nobody at the back feeling out of place. There is an online platform too for the mornings you cannot make it in. Three classes for forty-nine dollars to start. Set an alarm. The early ones tend to be the ones that stick.
